The national series will make its stop in Atlanta on Tuesday, August 17th where the area’s top lyricists will compete head-to-head for the title of best emcee in Dirty South. This invitation-only competition has a unique format that challenges the rapper to bring their game face to the chopping block and take it back to basics.
Eight competitors will take the Heaven Stage at Atlanta’s Masquerade concert venue. However, one spot ...w...ill be filled by a Wildcard selection. The last spot will be scouted out in an Atlanta wide tour to find the best neighborhood emcees around the perimeter. The emcees picked from each neighborhood stop will then compete live on air in a special edition of Battlegrounds Live on HOT 107.9 with The Durrty Boyz for the final Wildcard spot of the Red Bull EmSee competition.
Mix-tape legend and platinum selling producer, Don Cannon, will judge the three rounds along with Man Child (Red Bull EmSee ’09 champion), and “down south” hip-hop pioneer, Bun B. D.R.E.S tha BEATnik will man the mic and DJ Lord will keep things spinning on the ones and twos. Bun B will also make a special performance with hits from his upcoming album, “Trill OG.”
